Independent. Nurse-founded.
A complete resource for nurses who want to advance their careers.
Whether you are weighing a new role, a nurse practitioner path, or the steps to apply, RNtoNP gives you sourced guides, clear comparisons and tools to plan with.
What RNtoNP covers
- Types of NPs: each nurse practitioner population, with its certification routes, practice rules and pay, at its own page.
- Programs: nursing programs compared by degree, online availability and listed tuition, with the school's figures and sources.
- Tools: a calculator that compares the money and time of NP school with staying an RN, using your own numbers.
- Preparing to apply: questions to ask a program, documents to gather, and deadlines to plan around.
Every part works the same way: an official source for each fact, a check date, and a plain statement of what the sources do not say.
Who writes this
David Becker, RN, founded RNtoNP. He has spent more than 10 years as a registered nurse, in intensive care and critical care and in the emergency department, and he knows the questions nurses ask before they change roles.
He is not an NP yet. He is early in an accredited adult-gerontology acute care NP (AG-ACNP) program, so he is learning the same path this site describes. Read more on the author page.
Why RNtoNP exists
Nurses ask practical questions about their careers: whether to move out of bedside work, which NP pathway fits the patients they want to care for, and what preparing to apply really involves. The answers are often scattered, sales-driven or hard to check.
RNtoNP currently accepts no sponsorship or school payments. Read how we make money.
Becoming an NP is one possible next step. Changing your RN role, or staying in one that suits you, can also be an informed decision.
How we work
Every factual claim is traced to an official or primary source, and each article shows its sources and checked dates. AI helps organize research and draft text. A person checks the sources and approves each article before it is presented as reviewed guidance. See the editorial standards.
Where we are
The site is in an early preview. The types of NPs, programs and tools are the first full sections. Sub-specialty guides and school-side resources will follow as the publication grows. Browse Pulse to see what is published now.
